The HECToR Service is now closed and has been superceded by ARCHER.

Capturing User Requirements for the next national HPC facility, ARCHER

As you may have seen from press announcements in autumn 2011, the Government has made a recent capital investment of £158m in e-infrastructure. This investment includes funding for the next HPC national service, ARCHER. Subject to successful project review, a total of £43m of capital funding is available, whilst the running costs of the facility will be met by EPSRC, NERC and BBSRC from their existing budgets.

EPSRC, on behalf of the other Research Councils, is managing the project to procure the new service.

The Research Councils are currently capturing the user hardware requirements for ARCHER and want to hear from you.
