Suspension of X2 Accounting
As part of the Research Council's desire to promote new and innovative uses of HECToR, the Research Councils have taken the decision to allow users unrestricted access to the X2 vector system for a period of 6 months.
This means that as of yesterday (Mon 23 February), accounting rules for the X2 were suspended allowing free access to the vector system. Accounting will be suspended until August 31 2009. Usage of the X2 will continue to be tracked, but you will not be charged. Users should take this opportunity to explore ways of using the vector capability in their research.
Any users wishing to the use the X2 should consult their PI, who should submit a Class 2 technical assessment form to the Helpdesk. This form should state your high level intentions for using the X2. (Note - it is not necessary to calculate an AU requirement).
X2 Training
We will be encouraging all XT4 users who wish to use the X2 to attend one of the X2 training courses. Any users who are completely new to HECToR will be required to attend training.
