We present the installation of OpenFOAM versions 1.6 and 1.5 on HECToR, along with guidelines for its use and how to compile up user routines. Benchmarks results are also presented., wherein it is clear that there is no simple relation between the optimum number of cores to be used for a given solver, a given simulation domain and a given number of cells. However, we can state that OpenFOAM scales well on HECToR for both simple tutorial cases and for complex industrial cases.
