The current version of OpenFOAM, namely 1.6.x, contains many bug fixes, and this version should be maintained on HECToR. However, it is not clear when a new version of 1.6.x is released, as there is no clear centralised announcement service, thus it may be prudent to git the current version on the 1st of each month and/or after HECToR undergoes an upgrade.
