The NEMO dCSE project commenced on 1st March 2008 and is scheduled to end on
the 30th April 2009. The principal investigator on the grant was Dr Andrew
Coward from the National Oceanographic Centre, Southampton (NOCS). Dr Chris
Armstrong at NAG provided help and support from the CSE side.
The project comprised of two work packages (referred to as WP1 and WP2), one
concerned with improving the I/O performance of NEMO and one which involved
investigating and improving the performance of nested models within NEMO.
The motivation for investigating these two subject areas are discussed below.
